Why Brassburg Exists
Most copper information is either a press release or a paywalled terminal. The people who actually move metal between China and Europe — scrap yards, granulators, mills, fitting makers — mostly run on phone calls and habit.
Brassburg is a small attempt to do this properly, in public:
- Market notes, dated and sourced. Exchange prices, physical premiums, scrap grades. Every number carries its date and its source; when we do not know, we say so.
- Analysis from inside the industry. Regulation timelines, premium mechanics, capacity moves — written by practitioners, in English and Chinese.
- Trade matching with the work included. Scrap copper and copper granules from Europe to China; brass semis — especially lead-free grades — from China to Europe. Not a listing board: inspection, logistics, compliance paperwork and payment terms packaged into one accountable service.
The name is the alloy and the fortress: brass, and Burg, a fortified town. Small, solid, and on the route.
